Using the updated tracking algorithms available with Nexus 2, the University of South Florida’s new Center of Neuromusculoskeletal Research is able to track motion capture data with their Vicon system in real time, with exemplary accuracy and consistent labeling across testing sessions.
MISSION OF THE LAB:
The mission of the Center of Neuromusculoskeletal Research (CNMSR) of the School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences (SPTRS), Morsani College of Medicine, University of South Florida (USF) is to conduct research for the prevention and management of neuromusculoskeletal disorders in order to reduce their burden within society. The vision of the CNMSR is to be recognized as the leader in transformational and innovative neuromusculoskeletal research for the State of Florida.
RESEARCH FOCUS AND GOAL:
Dr. Teran Wodzinski’s research focuses on the influence of gait biomechanics on the development of knee osteoarthritis. Her research interest is the investigation of the effectiveness of gait retraining on influencing the course of osteoarthritic changes in women with knee hyperextension. The projects associated with her work incorporate 3D motion analysis and off-site monitoring of knee kinematics to provide feedback and monitor outcomes.
